Pre-purchase RV inspection
Before you buy a used RV, bring it to RepairAnyRV in Princeton, TX. We check the roof and seals, floors, walls, slides, appliances, plumbing, and electrical, and tell you what we found and what it would take to fix.
Why inspect before you buy
A used RV is only as good as what is behind the walls.
When you buy from a private seller, the sale is as-is. Whatever the seller did not fix is yours the moment the money moves, and the expensive things on a trailer are the ones you cannot see from the driveway.
An inspection before you buy is how you find out what you are actually buying.
The Inspection
What we check
The same things we look at on every unit that comes through the shop.
- Roof and seals. Every penetration, both cap seams, the membrane, and the decking under it.
- Floors. The entry, the bathroom, under the sinks, the bed, and the edge of every slide.
- Walls and ceiling. Delamination, soft spots, and staining.
- Slides and leveling. Motors, gear packs, seals, and jacks.
- Appliances and propane. Furnace, water heater, refrigerator, stove, and leak tests.
- Electrical and plumbing. 12V and 120V systems, converter and battery, pump, lines, and tanks.
We service travel trailers, 5th wheels, and park models, plus the coach living systems on motorhomes. We do not service engines, drivetrains, or generators.
The Findings
What you get back
Plain-language findings: what we found, what needs doing now, and what can wait. It gives you a reason to walk away, a list you can negotiate with, or confidence to buy.

Questions
Pre-purchase inspection questions
- What is a pre-purchase RV inspection?
- It is a look at a used RV by a shop that works on them, before you buy. We check the roof and seals, floors, walls, slides, appliances, plumbing, and electrical, and tell you what we found and what it would take to fix.
- Where does the inspection happen?
- At our shop at 2745 FM 1377 in Princeton, TX. The unit has to come to us, so arrange with the seller how it gets here before you book.
- Should I inspect a used RV before buying from a private seller?
- Yes. A private sale is as-is, so whatever the seller did not fix is yours once the money moves. An inspection tells you what you are buying before that happens.
- How much does a pre-purchase inspection cost?
- We do not publish inspection prices. Call (214) 699-6938 or ask on the booking form and we will quote it. No payment is taken when you book.
